Yazhini’s linenesthetics

Meet Yazhini, a fierce, compassionate & creative entrepreneur who never fails to express her love for linens.

“Linens are like my love at first sight when it comes to textiles. The breeziness and comfort of the fabric always gives me a chance to slay in my own style, sense confidence and definitely own a sense of richness everytime I drape a linen. Florals have always been my things and what could even go wrong with linens and florals in a single saree? To me, it’s an absolute delight to drape a linen saree adorned with contemporary floral embroidery on it.

I remember this beautiful bright summer afternoon, heading to a lawn tea party decorated with the most expensive porcelains. I draped myself in a pastel yellow linen saree adorned with minimal floral embroidery all over the saree. Pastels on the other hand play well with my styling aesthetics. Paired this elegant linen saree with a halter neck blouse of the same shade as the saree. My hair was kept simple with dramatic waves and also added a cute little tiara. I accessorized my entire look with a cute floral embroidered polki bag, statement earrings, nude pink lip color and a statement ring to balance the entire look for the beautiful summer noon.

Did I turn heads towards me? Ofcourse a yes! A Big yes!”, says Yazhini.

“Sarees are my favorite. Nothing can bet the elegance and richness of a linen saree. Linens are my favourite when it comes to textiles. The simplicity and the warmth of the textile gives me a sense of richness whenever I drape a linen saree. My love for linen never fades away just like my love for dance. Monotones, simple styling with bold statement accessories always fall under my aesthetics.

Talking out linens and sarees, this takes me back to a sophisticated destination wedding I attended right before the lockdown. The grandeur of the dreamy décor adorned with exotic flowers, soothing music, vibrant colors and the sea breeze absolutely took my breathe away. Being an ardent lover of monotones, I chose to drape myself in an elegant pink linen saree with minimal silver zari weave paired with a closed neck blouse with the major detailing at the back. I kept my hair simple with a tight bun adorned with mullapoo, bold eye makeup and lipcolour. I accessorized my entire look with a statement oxidized silver jumka, intricately carved bracelet and a statement ring. I love to keep styling simple yet elegant and fierce with a pinch of bold statement accessory”, says Rudhra.

Sarees have always been my first love when it comes to clothing. I love to keep my styling aesthetics simple yet fierce with linens.

Having said that, let me talk about my dream that came to reality when my clothing line received the most promising sustainable brand of the year. Being an ardent linen enthusiast, I draped myself in a naturally dyed Tie & Dye linen saree to the grand evening. The simplicity and the elegance of the fabric gives me a sense of comfort and confidence like no other. I paired the saree with a black spaggetti bralet blouse with a belt to achieve a chic look. I kept my hair simple with dramatic waves which creates an illusion with my crazy colored hair and bold eye makeup. Accessorized the entire look with a designer oxidized silver neck piece, statement earring and ring.

I usually wear linen drapes for my recordings. The softness, comfort and the raw texture of the textile gives me a sense of tranquility like no other. Being an ardent linen lover, I happened to come across a blend of linen and tissue. I would say that saree was my love at first sight. I must say the contemporary floral prints with the right amount of bling and intricately hand woven zari border were drop dead gorgeous. If you ask me if I picked the saree? Ofcourse, I did! Why would I miss out that beauty?

Few months back, I happened to perform live abroad in the presence of well-known singers from the music industry. When it comes to live performances, I always make sure my aesthetics stand out and having said that without any second thought I draped this gorgeous blend of tissues and linen floral saree paired with a gold raw silk designer blouse. The sense of femininity and boldness I felt having draped that saree left me speechless. I knew I was going to own the stage that evening. I kept my hair simple with a tight bun and mullapoo, sindhoor on my forehead and bindhi with bold eyes makeover. Accessorized the entire look with statement antique kundhan chocker, jumkas and a statement ring.

I love to keep my styling aesthetics bold and loud without letting off my feminine side of mine”, says Adhirudha.
